Combat of The Bard, Stage Fighting Workshop
WHEN: Sunday, November 20 from 1pm - 4pm
WHERE: The MAC | 645 W. Main Street, Merced | Black Box Theater
WHO: All are welcome to this beginners course - no prior stunt or acting experience needed. Learn basic stunt techniques including hand to hand, acting reactions, safe ground level falls, and weapons choreography.
WHAT: An introduction to stage combat and stunts for stage focusing on the work of our beloved bard William Shakespeare by fight choreographer, Ambrose Mac.
In the first half of the workshop, we will learn basic stunt techniques including hand to hand, acting reactions, safe ground level falls, and weapons choreography.
In the second half of the workshop, we will focus on the historical swordplay of the time using single handed swords performing basic cuts and defenses to complete a choreographed duel.
Duels will be on video and given to participants (Start your stunt reel!)
Age 18+ unless a parent is also taking the course (ages 14-17 adult situations may be discussed)
*WHAT TO BRING*
Mask Required, regardless of vax status (We will be close face to face exercising)
Water Bottle
Gloves are recommended but not required (fencing, mechanics, or leather gardening gloves)
Dress of the day is comfort sports wear and closed toes shoes.
